The IPC is a 1- or 2-bolt insulated, waterproof clamp used for branch connections or parallel jumper connections on aluminum and copper cables. It performs reliably in tropical, marine and industrially polluted environments…
| Construction | |
| Insulated connector body | Made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic with high mechanical strength and weather resistance. It is resistant to ultraviolet radiation, cracking, aging and corrosion, and does not deform when the clamp is tightened. |
| Bolt assembly | The bolts and washers are made of stainless steel or CT3 steel with a hot-dip galvanized coating at least 80µm thick for corrosion resistance. A shear-head tightening nut made of corrosion-resistant material ensures that the clamping blades grip the insulated conductor firmly without peeling its insulation or damaging the strands of the conductor core. |
| Clamping blades | Made of high-conductivity, tin-plated copper alloy. Encapsulated in 1 layer of resilient polymer and specialized silicone grease for waterproofing and corrosion protection. |
| Cable end cap | Made of resilient rubber. The IPC includes a cable end cap to protect the cable against water ingress. The cable end caps remain attached to the insulated connector body even when not in use. |
How should an IPC be selected?
When selecting a cable connector clamp, consider the following specifications:
- Voltage class ( high voltage, medium voltage, low voltage)
- Number of bolts ( 1 bolt, 2 bolts)
- Main-conductor cross-section
- Branch-conductor cross-section
