The compression joint sleeve is a high-strength, high-conductivity, 2-part tension-bearing type. Each joint sleeve assembly consists of a plated inner steel sleeve for joining the steel core of the ACSR conductor and an outer aluminum/aluminum-alloy sleeve for joining the complete ACSR conductor. The sleeves must be prefilled with compound to improve electrical contact.
